This is what we have learned moving from a bad experience with an established so called “top” Architectural practice to the far more professional H Architect Studio. In the Architectural design process the Architects personal skills, emotional intelligence and client rapport are as important as technical ability. If your Architect does not communicate effectively the process will be unnecessarily protracted, costly and likely to be one of the most expensive and stressful experiences of your life. We know we have been there - completely frustrated by a lack of professionalism almost out of our depth and unsure how to proceed. Fortunately an experienced “observer “ recognised something was seriously wrong and introduced us to Donal .
After wasting a lot of time and huge sum of money we were naturally cautious about a new relationship but night turned to day as Donal set about reviewing our house plans, identifying flaws, improving design and reducing costs. We are now going to have a far better, greener and beautiful home – but it took a disastrous experience to get there.
Donal is a consummate professional . He operates to all prescribed RIBA criteria and beyond to his own self imposed “no compromise” standards - thus ensuring he meets all client expectations, interests and professional obligations . Donal has everything that was missing with our former Architect . He is far more creative, empathetic and does not consider his work complete until he has thoroughly considered all design / budget options and discussed them. Not only is he highly skilled and experienced he is also an engaging personality to work with. If only we had met him first!
